Del Frisco's Grille

We went to Del Frisco's Grille for Kyle's birthday. Its definitely a foodie take on American Food. (

We started at the bar where each of us ordered one glass of wine, then moved over to our table where we ordered more wine and an appetizer. We ordered their Deviled Eggs to be exact. They were PHENOMENAL. I wish I would have taken a picture, they were amazing, there wasn't anything crazy about the egg yolks, but the sauce was incredible. It was a truffle oil chive vinaigrette and I could have eaten just the sauce.

It was pretty crazy because there is another sister restaurant to Del Frisco's which is their steakhouse. My hubby, Kyle, had a work event there, and he missed it, but a few of his friends sent us a bottle of wine.  The wine was called Ehlers 120 over 80. It was actually pretty good, and 100% of the proceeds from the wine go to cardiovascular research. I mean who can't drink to that!

After our appetizer of deviled eggs, we moved onto our dinner salad. Three of us chose "The Grille Salad" which had the best bacon I have eaten in a long time. I mean full thick yummy pieces of bacon. And our friend ordered the Iceberg Wedge which luckily had the bacon. I mean if you go you have to order something with bacon. 

We dined with friends and both ladies and guys ordered the specials. My friend and I ordered the fish special which was a Parmesan crusted Mahi Mahi over a ver blanc sauce topped with crab meat and lemon vinaigrette. Since I am dairy free, they made me a special one, which meant they took off the parmesan crust and the ver blanc sauce. It was still REALLY YUMMY. I definitely appreciated that they went out of their way to make sure I could still eat the special.

My husband and our other friend both chose the steak special. Two 4oz filets over smoked cheddar grits, covered in a crawfish butter sauce. I could have shoved my face in their dinner (but I didn't). I had literally one grit, due to my dairy allergy, and I can only imagine the amazingness of the whole dish. Both guys said that their steaks were a little less done than asked.

We also split some sides, the Pan-Braised Wild Mushroom, which were OMG GREAT, if you are a mushroom fan, this is where its at! Everyone except for me split the Chipotle Three Cheese Mac, which I heard was good, but pretty damn spicy.

I'm sorry I have no pictures of food, I'm totally that obnoxious person always taking pictures of my food. 

After finding out it was Kyle's Birthday our server brought over a card and offered to purchase dessert for us and we all thought it was super sweet. 

Kyle ended up picking the Nutella Bread Pudding which looks incredibly amazing and I heard was incredibly amazing. Our server was nice enough to bring me out a fruit plate which was awesome, but the fruit didn't really seem to go together. 

All in all I would definitely go back again and I HIGHLY recommend it. The bar was busy, but the restaurant wasn't very full, It was also pretty cold, so who knows. But I can't wait to go back and try something new!
