DIY Jewelry Shelves

So, I got from a family member one of those SUPER nice jewelry armoires that are free standing. Which was awesome, because those bad boys run anywhere from $200 to $500 on Amazon. I had it for a few years and it was great, because I could hoard some serious jewelry in it, especially when I worked for Charming Charlie.

Quilted Heart Pillows made from Shirts

3 out of 4 Completed Pillows. They are all similar but unique in their own way.

My friend ask me to make something very special for her and her family. After her mother passed away, she wanted something symbolic of her mother, a keepsake made from something of her mom's. My friend came up with the idea of making her mother's favorite t-shirts into pillows. Luckily my friend let me run with the idea and come up with the quilting pattern.

A Place for the Toddler Art

So, I needed a place to showcase Kollin's artwork other than my refrigerator. Okay....maybe there are a few pictures on there, however I wanted a place to show off Instagram pics and his art and be able to interchange everything as life goes on.

Luckily I had some major blank wall space in our living room that we refinished.

DIY Camera Strap Cover - Sewing required

I was gifted a new camera for Christmas (by the way I have completely overloaded my computer with pictures and now I have to get an external hard drive WHOOPSIES).

I wanted to make a few camera strap covers just for fun, AND I ordered a super cute one from Etsy. Hers are actual straps and not just covers, you can find them here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/PeaceGrenade

Anyway, basically you need:
1/4 yd each of material, lining and interfacing
Matching thread
Iron and Ironing board

I made a few different camera straps so I just used a few pictures of each so that is why you see the change of materials.

First: Cut your materials in strips (you can decide on size, I started small then decided when I had finished my strap it was a little skinny so I made my second larger)

I made the second strap about 4.5 inches wide each and you can make the length based on the strap of your camera, but you need two strips of the main material, two strips of lining and two strips for the interfacing.
