Refinished Buffet Table for Dining Room

I was in desperate need of a buffet table in our boring Dining Room. Now, it has a very art gallery feel, because it is in fact where I have hung all of our important artwork. I will post a before and after of our dining room another time, because the before was quite terrible. We actually had to replace the wood flooring due to old termite damage that was hidden under a piece of furniture... (let's not dwell on the past, ANYWHOOOO). My friend refinishes furniture for people and she found a great vintage dresser for me I think it was only $50 or $60.

Before

It really wasn't in that bad of shape, a few dings and some minor detail repairs. I purchased some of that chalk paint stuff from a local shop that my friend recommended and it took me forever to finally get this guy completed. I just wasn't quite inspired by anything and I had no idea what to do. It sat in our garage for about 3 months and its finally done. I found this great buffet at West Elm and I went to work
Inspiration Piece from West Elm

I sanded everything

Then I used the black chalk paint on the outside of the dresser

For the drawers I just used a metallic spray paint that I found at Lowes....God I love spray paint, its so freaking easy and it gets into every little area and covers well.

Updating the hardware was my big issue with this DIY, there is always an issue DIYing. Apparently dresser pulls aren't standard or this one definitely wasn't. Most places like Lowes sell them in 3in, 5in and so on. These were 4 1/4in. I went to a place here in Houston that sells specialized hardware and they didn't have them, so I purchased some online and they fit! In the end it looks great!

Check out the after pics?
